Chiropractic Pediatrics - Mindset

When people ask me what I do, I always shift the emphasis to WHY we do what we do here at Pike Chiropractic Healing Centre.  To explain, I will use 2!/2 year old Pierce as an example.

Pierce, like many of us do, experienced stress during his birthing process. This is referred to as TBS  (traumatic birth syndrome). There was a timing disruption during his delivery. This was caused by a nervous nurse concerned because of the Gynecologist being absent from the birth room. The stress of this tension affected Pierce's Mom and so was trasferred to the infant in the birth canal through the pelvic muscles.

Ther result of this was an Atlas misalignment! Your atlas vertebrae is the one the head sits on. What makes C1 (atlas) unique is that its misalignment may affect the brainstem. Most human beings don't know that the master control for all of their major organs is located in this part of the brain which is also the beginning of the spinal system.

The point of this exmple is that the WHY behind my chiropractic services is focused on the disturbances to the spinal nerves from an unhappy spine. Pierce's mom brought him in to us after 21/2 months because she and her husband were exhausted. They had been living without sleep due to their colicy infant's distress. When the spine isn't right the body's commands aren't heard by the brain. The messages to stomach from the master control aren't accurate. This results in organ dysfunction due to dysautonomia. The autonomic nervous system carries the messages between your stomach and your brain.  A happy spine is mandatory for proper function of all systems! Do you see the WHY behind this fact my friend? Chiropractors refer to nerve disturbances from unhappy an spine as sub-lux-ation.

I adjusted Pierce on visit one and he has slept narmally since that day. (So I might add have his thankful parents) This may be a different why that you currently understand about chiropractic, but I am certain that this is the biggest value possible to a family.  The decision to adopt wellness chiropractic care in addttion to their usual habit of a crisis care approach for wounded adults.  Stay tuned for my monthly
Pediatric Column and please don't hesitate to ask a question if one comes up for you. Thank you for your interest. Wishing you the best of Life's gifts during 2014.
