The Chiropractic Idea...It's big.

There's a saying about the fate of new ideas. They face a vicious cycle of ridicule, opposition and eventual acceptance as being self-evident. Chiropractic is at the third stage. At this time 2% of the world's population uses the chiropractic approach in their lifestyle as a part of their personal care strategy.
The simple explanation of our profession's unique role is this: Our Science: The brain is a master control of the trillions of cells and systems making the body's functions operate in the state of natural order. Nerve impules are sent at 300 miles/hr to and from the brain in response to the body's feedback through the central communication network - the spinal cord. Interestingly, both the brain and the cord are protected by bone. The fact that the verterbral bones forming a cable around the cord may misalign and disturb these nerves explains why chiropractors are mistaken for 'back' doctors.
Our Art: The art of chiropractic is the specific adjustment done for the purpose of restoring optimum connection within the spinal transmissions between body and brain.
If you have difficulty accepting the size of this idea, this means you are yet unfamiliar with our philosophy:  All health and healing is from above - down and inside-out.  (ADIO is the relevant chiropactic acronym!) You may have noticed the recent focus on brain health. Consider this...can a brain without complete connection to the body remain in a healthy state? In chiropractic we have a term for this condition. It is SUBLUXATION.
Stay tuned to this blog as I will demonstrate the chiropractic theory of dis-ease as a provable one. Nerve connection = order. Loss of nerve connection (subluxation) = disorder. In this blog we'll expand on this vitalistic paradigm of health and wellness explained in scientific terms that are known and accepted.

The Triad of Health

There are lots of triangles in the sacred geometry of the Universe. Three is a recurring theme, for example, the milking stool, the tricycle and the push-scooter where one leg compliments the two wheels in order for speed and momentum to be possible with some control. The principle in physics is W=FxT (work equals force times time)
The Triad of Health shows up in several different dynamics as this blog will illustrate. Today let's look at the different dynamics behind one of your body's articulations or joints.  Take the elbow. If you want to have a drink of water from the glass you are holding in your hand several principles must coincide to produce the act of elbow flexion and bring the glass up toward your mouth.
There are three different components or forces involved if we simplify it: passive, active and interactive.
The bones of the upper and lower arm are passive and meet at the elbow joint, a sophisticated hinge-type articulation, similar to the knee in some ways. The term passive means bones cannot initiate movment on their own. They are functionally inert, making bone a passive player in the joint mechanism.
Muscle moves bone. But a muscle on its own isn't capable of either contraction (shortening) or relaxation (lengthening) without a nerve impulse to inform it which action to perform. Muscle is the active component of joint motion.
Interactive forces are signals broadcast from the brain to the muscle. It isn't possible to describe the interactive component of movement without some appreciation of the body's Innate Intelligence. For example, to contract one muscle and bring a glass of water to the mouth, the brain must simultaneously send an impulse to relax the opposing muscle allowing it to lengthen.
In chiropractic, the triad we use to address the sophisticated interactivities within our body looks like this:
Matter - Force- Inteligence. That's it for today.
Next time we'll explore the chiropractic model of health as order and dis-ease as dis-order. The meaning of subluxation will be much more clear now that we more fully appreciate the Triad of Health.

What's in a name, or password for that matter?

This is my first blog entry.
The experience of facing the empty page with nothing but past esperiences and the unlimited potentials of my life to either express or not is both daunting and exhillarating.
Today is sunny and warm.
I choose to go out into these elements after an extended time of dim coolness.
Stay tuned for the next entry in which I will outline the triad of life at the core of true health and healing.
Understanding the mysterious synchronicities which coincide as true health or its apparent absence and communicating occasional insights is one of my passions.
I hope and intend for this sharing to be mutually beneficial in a huge way.
